Friendship’s Team

Friendship’s staff provides the perfect balance of expertise in: Coaching, Leadership, Goal Setting, Nutrition, Physical Therapy, Massage Therapy and of course, exercise science!

Coaches are what makes the difference in a fitness facility. How willing are the coaches to go out of their way to help, to give you their free time, to text you to hold you accountable or be there when you need it? This defining characteristic has been what sets Friendship apart from the beginning. Jeff (owner) sets the bar extremely high, and demands the same from his staff. You will not be disappointed in the care, effort and energy we provide.

Coaching Team

Jenny Borda

General Manager, Doctor of Physical Therapy

Dr. Jenny Borda was a competitive level-10 gymnast who walked onto Ohio State. After injuries ended her gymnastics career, she began coaching competitive gymnasts. While coaching she found a love for helping people through health and wellness, which lead to attending physical therapy school at Ohio State.

Upon graduating she became a physical therapist at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, and works with many young gymnasts and other athletes. Jenny found CrossFit and it re-ignited her passion for competition. She is a former Fittest Woman in Ohio (2016), and multiple national and state record holder in the sport of Weightlifting. She brings a unique blend of Gymnastics experience, Physical Therapy knowledge and coaching prowess to our classes, as well as to her own creation, Gymnastics Club. Looking to get your first Muscle-Up? This is your girl.

Jenny is wife to Keith, mother to Pit Bulls, Wade and Zoey, and stray cat extraordinaire: Calvin.

Andy is married to Kristen aka “Baby Bear” and they have an Airedale Terrier named Wallace.

Maria Binek

Maria is the most fun loving person on the planet. It only takes two minutes into your first interaction with Maria to fall in love with her personality. She has a unique way of making anyone enjoy their fitness experience. If you’re unsure about training, ask for Maria and you’ll be in for a good time.

Of course, there is no one better then to run our Kids and Teens program. This is Maria’s passion; helping to motivate our youth through fun exercise and nutrition. She especially loves helping kids who work really hard, but are still ‘finding themselves.’

Maria met Jeff through CrossFit while working for Lululemon. They’ve been together since 2012, and recently married. She is mother to the gym mascot “Blitz” who is her daughter, soul mate and spirit animal. Jeff and Maria also adopted a cat (Charlotte) and hope to have more animals in the future.

Support Team

Sarah Whaley

She is mother to Parker and Matthew and wife to Brent. She enjoys traveling and hiking…but really anything involving puppies or Parker the most.

Greeting Crew

Hopefully you like puppy cuddles, kisses and general friendship from “man’s best friend.” Here at Friendship we’re very pet friendly, and Blitz is the main gym pup. She loves treats and is a true fat kid at heart, FCF’ers do their best to play with her and not indulge her in between her naps.

Legacy Team

Co-Founder, T-Shirt Guru & Tech

The reason that Friendship asks for your favorite movie. Tom is a huge reason why there is an unhealthy obsession with beards, movies, ‘stupid’ movies, quotes, being “proud of you” and general positivity around Friendship. He also created the websites, designs the shirts and keeps us all looking fresh.

Tom is engaged to Sarah “True Grit” Chaney, and as a couple they have brought more than most could imagine to our community. They are parents to dog, Zuni and cats, Watson & Little Man. Tom’s sister, brother-in-law and mother all attend FCF and he frequently pops in to visit them when in town. Much like Jay, Tom is currently pursuing his dreams in Indianapolis, IN in filmmaking/writing.

Jay Malone

Friendship would have never gotten off the ground had it not been for the efforts and leap of faith of Jay. He was integral in growing our community, establishing relationships and helping us grow our systems.

One of the things we preach here at Friendship is to follow your dreams, and Jay did that in the Summer of 2016. He moved to Phoenix, AZ to open Mint Strength which acts as our “Friendship to the West.”

He is husband to wife, Kristen, and father to Pit Mix and Blitz’s best friend: Nala. He loves hiking, warm weather, the Cleveland Browns, Seinfeld, Joe Dirt, Blue Streak, Snatching and all things fitness.
